Section 8
Tidal Waters
Some of the more extreme tidal waters in the world can be
found on Canada's Pacific and Atlantic coasts. The east coast
is home to the world's largest tides, and treacherous currents
are found among the Gulf Islands of British Columbia.
Understanding and planning for tides and tidal currents is
essential for safe coastal navigation. These lessons provide
an overview of tides and their associated currents, and describe
how to read and interpret Canadian tide and current tables. Spend
at least an hour to take in all this material. This section covers
